November 5, 2021

The Fall 2021 edition of thrive., a quarterly magazine from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, was recently released. If you missed the print edition, you can find the digital version here, including exclusive content that is only available online.

The newest edition features the inspirational story of Carmen Berrios sharing how making an extraordinary effort to get to a routine mammogram helped her detect, fight and survive breast cancer. From the article:

"Many women were forced to forego mammogram screenings at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as hospitals in Minnesota put them on hold for safety reasons. Other women didn’t feel comfortable or safe attending appointments and have yet to resume. But [Mayo Clinic breast health specialist Sandhya] Pruthi encourages them to restart their annual screenings," thrive. writes.

"Don’t put off what can be a lifesaving screening. Talk to your doctor about developing a screening plan.”
