Blue Cross recognized as a Star Tribune Top 200 Workplace for 2023
June 29, 2023Each year, the Star Tribune newspaper invites employees from companies across Minnesota to respond to an annual survey benchmarking workplace culture. Based on the responses, 200 companies across the state were selected as Top Workplaces for 2023. Blue Cross was ranked at 33.
"We're honored to be recognized as a top workplace in Minnesota for the third year in a row," says Julie Loosbrock, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Blue Cross. "Our associates’ honesty helps us grow and evolve as a company. We strive to build a workplace culture where all associates can be their truest selves and be seen, heard and valued."
Taking wins in stride
“This recognition reinforces our commitment to creating an exceptional work environment where our associates thrive, succeed and grow in their careers,” says Stacy Van Meter, vice president of talent acquisition, employer brand and people analytics. “It’s a testament to the outstanding workplace culture we are building, and we are eager to continue to improve and elevate our associate experience.”
Blue Cross was commended for having leaders who care. One of the top scoring measurements was having managers who care about their teams’ concerns.
“It’s huge that people feel truly connected to their manager or director. The survey results confirmed that we have leaders who care and have a good understanding of their teams’ needs,” says Anne Losby, director of cultural transformation and change management.
Blue Cross’ core values include succeeding together, finding a better way, owning it and being remarkable.
“We make a difference with our values and we’re proud of that,” says Losby. “Our associates live our values, which are an integral part of Blue Cross culture.”
Continuing to grow
Blue Cross leaders state that the feedback and recognition that comes with the Star Tribune survey strengthens their commitment to continually improve the associate experience.
“We welcome our associates to bring their authentic selves to work every day while we support and empower them on their career and life journey,” says Van Meter. “As we celebrate this achievement, we remain focused on nurturing our associates and continuing to raise the bar even higher in years to come.”
